My very first juvie red dragon...he's about 4+ inches with sunken eyes. I'm not really into red dragon. Since I got into the fh hobby about 7 years ago...this is my third red dragon. My previous two RDs were adult size and I didn't kept them for long. I'm very happy with this one...hope to keep him for a very long time.

Love the stripe on the top of his head and along the back falling down to the body. Good harmony. Very nice and unique

Thanks for all the comments guys. I really like this guy...has all the potential to become a great RD.

Btw...he is fertile and he's only 5+ inches. The female is much bigger than him. His first attempt in breeding was a success. There are black dots on some of the eggs this morning. Hopefully there will be wigglers tonight. Will post up some pics later tonight.

Thanks Barney...see next post (below) for the female. She's a humpy female...got it from a lfs. Lfs was selling her as male...I knew it was a female so I snatched her pretty quick.

Female with fertilized eggs: I'm letting her raises the fries and see how it goes as I was not expecting the eggs to be fertilized. I will be prepared and ready for the next batch in a few weeks.

Update: 3/15/12

Looks like he's starting to fade...the little pink patches on the body seem to be an indication of fading. Also, he doesn't have that deep red on him any more. Let's hope he's not fading...I would be very disappointed if he fades. I'm not ready for a fader yet.

Any inputs/comments would be appreciated...

He looks more pinkish each day...I guess he's fading. Crossing fingers and hope that's not the case though... :P

Second try was not a success this time...they fought and the female end up not laying any eggs even though her tube was dropped.

Here are a few pics before I separated them apart...will try it again in a few weeks.
