I have noticed alot of Silks on the market atm and though this be the case im starting to really like them after i saw a few pics of what a masterpiece Silk can look like after he matures. Do you guys still like them or are you getting burned out on them now since there are so many and they have been around a while now? So far the oldest thread regarding Silks was about 3 years ago.
I prefer this kind of Yellow eyes Thai Silk Kamfa.

You really need to search & take your time to find a quality solid metallic FH specimen because most look like...
Do you eat the fish in that can food, man? Someone told me that this fish food can taste like shit and smell like shit. Is It Right?......

So im still trying to figure out if people really, realy like big headed thai silk anymore. It almost seems to me that people are liking the King Kamfa and Indo Kamfa alot more than Thai silk. If that is the case it would stand to reason that if more Silk Kamfa were made then they would be just as sought after.

Me personally.. I don't like silks/titaniums. I think they're boring. I like looking at a fish that is colorful...
I remember when they first came out, people were so amazed at how it looked (From someone's MP Silk) and was scrambling looking all over for one..
I got one.. and it didn't grow a kok.. so all it was, was a shiny fish.. Hahah
So a kokless silk/titanium looks even uglier.. (My opinion)...
But each his own.... :-)

In my opinion, bilbo, why you have to care what other people like.
It is your fish and you are the one is going to look at them every day; so find a nice thai silk for yourself.....

Yes the grand majority of TS or Titaniums are glorified SARDINES!
................unless you take your time then you can find the few Kamfa based ones that have great body shape, kok & fins.
The very best of the modern metallic FH imo are the ones the Thai selectively crossbred with Pung Kung genes. Those are the Thai Silk koksters!

I wouldn't go as far as saying people were crazy for TS... more like intrigued.
Thai silks actually have been overbred and are as common and inexpensive as standard ZZ RDs... I have seen relatively nice ones with a kok selling retail for $65.00 USD locally.

Why do i care about what people like? Because its a fish forum and i like discussing things about flowerhorn that intrigues me. I came back from a very long break and was wanting to know why people say these are the new and hot flowerhorn but yet they are so cheaply priced on the market. I ask these questions to learn people's point of view and to educate myself on the "going ons" of flowerhorns these days, NOT to base my decision on whether or not i will get one. That has nothing to do with it. I ask these questions about Thai Silks just like i have been asking these questions about King Kamfas, Tan Kings and Indo breeds. Its all about saturating myself with knowledge. Ive been away a long time. If you dont ask you dont learn. ThanksIn my opinion, bilbo, why you have to care what other people like.

I dont care for this one much since it has the added color in the body and fins. For me a silk needs to have almost no color except metalic. Metalic sheen throughout the entire body with kamfa fins, head and eyes is a spectacular Silk.I prefer this kind of Yellow eyes Thai Silk Kamfa.

They ARE overbred. The reason is because both male and female are fertile at a young, young age. The good thing is that i believe the Silk gene has opened up a door way for new and incredible color morphs of flowerhorns. I cant wait to see what cool looking fh we are going to see in about 3 years. Gonna be wicked. In 10 years flowerhorns are going to look insane!I wouldn't go as far as saying people were crazy for TS... more like intrigued.
