Hi Guys,
I'd just like to share my experience in correcting Fin Curls on Flowerhorn Trailers.
From my observation, the curls begin when the fin bones do not grow in the same rate.
To fix the problem, simple open up the fin with a needle or sharp object like a toothpick.
By opening it up, the fins will heal back up and become more even.
It is also okay to cut the tips of the fin. Just dont cut too deep, because the new fins will be
growing back thin and if you cut too deep, the thick fin bones will not look good.
But the tips are thin, so when it does grow back, it will be even.
Here is an illustration. Ive done this to many flowerhorns that have fin curls and most of them
heal up nicely. It is important to do it as early as possible. Older flowerhorns have an harder
time because the fin bones are thick.
