Depends greatly on tank size and footprint. Silvers get longer but bend easier than Jardinis. Therefore a Jar will require a much wider tank. Also Jardini are killers and will destroy ANY other fish you have in the tank when it reaches the 9-10" mark. Jardini is my choice if you have the room. I loved mine.

I came to that same question once and i had them all jars, silvers, and almost asian gold at one time but the grand felt alot of money at the time only what i know today i would of bought the darn thing because its rare and illegal so i stuck to a jar 6 inch for 69.00 bucks,i had him in the 90 gal with tinfoils and he chaesd them until he hit the glass and broke his back over night, and a few days i bought a 4 incher for 40 bucks out the door and i cant wait when he gets the pink-red on the tip of his scales,i like them both but for me its the saratoga! ALLTHEWAY

Jardini, is closet to the Asian Aro with smaller scale. it doesn't grow as big but it is very hard to have any tank mate with it.

Silver and Black grow to much bigger and you can keep other fishes with them.

I think the Jardini is much cooler with better color.

I vote for Jardini if you could.

Jardini all the way... or if you can an Asian "Jardini"....

Because of his, the overall impression that a fish gives you at the start is certainly very important. You may find defects and unattractive places when you carefully observe a fish's entire body, but then find that after you have stepped back a few feet, that the things you found fault with do not offend the eye and may actually be quite pleasing. Your balanced judgement is the overall impression you have received and is absolutely subjective. The most important part of selecting a Flowerhorn, apart from a few basic principles, is the overall feeling that a fish gives you." - The ever-changing of Lo-Han

Its not up to states, its a federal law and I doubt we will see a change soon.

West Coast... Big Cities on the East Coast... Great Lake States by Canada... Texas... North Carolina... Hawaii. They are illegal still in all States. Can get permits for educational purposes. Folks are still trying to change the laws. Getting closer each year. I suggest starting out with a Jar for practice before you invest in an Asian Aro. Best to wait when it is legit to own one too!

Im partial to the Silver aro they are cheap and sometimes you find monster on craigslist for next to nothing. They need alot of room I would say 150g and up when they grow full size. Jars are awesome but silvers for me. My dad had one that was almost 2 feet. He jumped out when we where on vacation and came back to aro jerky

ROTF at Aro jerky... Your loss is not funny though. There is an Asian aro on AB for 2500 is it worth it?

I take the Silver aro. They are O.G. Jardinies are like Asian aro wannabes or rejects.

Jars need wider tanks cause they dont flex as much as silver or black... If you really want an asian arrow take a ride up to canada and try sneaking it through on the way back.
