A friend at work wants a lizard for his son and this should be a good pet for him. I have a 20g long I will give him to use but need to find a cheap bd for him and if its a good enough deal I will get one for myself. Best deal I found was $39.99 at LLL reptile which is by me.

Local petshops should have them.

But go for a morph for $40 and more. I had a beardy that I traded my laptop for and he died.. They get kind of boring after a while.. Only the color morphs are interesting to look at. They are cool lizards though. Im always tempted to get another pair..

This is for his young son so a standard one is fine but I would like some of the morphs, they are wicked.

These days, it's so easy to get a color morph. Even a normal ain't gray anymore.. Just buy one from the pet store for the kid then. Their breeder market price cost around $30. I think petsmart costs $60-$70.

When you go with the color morphs, it gets stupid with the names just like the FHs!!

If you want the latest and hottest in the market now, go with the Translucent morph. They are the ones that actually can hold the name.. The rest are a mess of names.. I had a het Trans. He died. They have see through skin!! Oooohhhh....!!! Youre tempting me on getting one!! If you get a good morph, I'd like to know.. Maybe we can breed them if I decide to get the same kind!! I like citrus(yellow/green), and Translucent. They cost a lot though.

that's translucent. Oh no that's the silk. I don't like those. I like scales on my dragon :)
That's one kind I've never touched or seen in person..

you need the 60g for it. Have you kept them before and do you do know about sexing and housing? I used to keep them. When I was new to bd I've made a few big bad mistakes that lost me a few of them. If you have problems, you can ask me :)

Well the wife approved it and I went in and picked out the one I wanted today, a very vibrant yellow juvenile citrus. So time to start prepping the tank and then I can get him :) I sue to keep lizards but its been awhile and never bd so I will hit you up. Any recommendation on which sex to get? i assume housing just a couple branches, water dish, basking light and proper temp. What heating method do you prefer?

Oh also they had hypno reds but the red wasn't very strong, is that something that will get more intense as they get older?

Hypo red? That would be soft red..

I think the vibrant yellow citrus is your best choice since you said vibrant. Everytime they shed, they get more vibrant little by little. The red morphs aren't always red like the name of the color.. Truly red ones are expensive..

About housing, you need heat and UV lights and if you want, a water bowl. You mist them often and they drink like that too. Mines drink when I bath them. They are like FHs. Males should NoT be together. Some females can be together. Grown males should NOT be housed with females because he will force her to breed to death. Yeah I know they look all chill and innocent but it's not really like that when you're not there. And though you don't see it, one dragon can be stressed by a presence of another dragon. Never put a big dragon together with a much smaller dragon. One time I had to pull my favorite new dragon out of the mouth of my first dragon. It was a baby tiger citrus, and when I pulled him out he was already dead. So that's housing..
