Hopefully she'll be a babies mama soon. Got her from LFS. Been up there for like 6 months. Looked like shit in the store but I knew she would blossom when I got her home. She is resideing in 15 long for a lil bit untill I divide Orions tank. Pictures are from cell phone camera, so doesn't show her true beauty. She is way more red in person and pretty dam pearly. I traded a royal pleco I bought for $5, a 6" pike cichlid, and about 50 gold severm fry for her. What do you guys think of her. I know she is no MP, but I think she's pretty decent. I'd give her a 7. She laid eggs at the store, and shes about 1/2 the size of Orion :)

Thanks everyone. Orion does very well with tankmates so far too. Eggs get eaten with the parrot so not sure who is eating them. I hope I can get her and Orion to raise their own fry. We shall see. Either way, I think he will be fine with her. I'll put them together when I get back form vaca in mid october I think.

good "newbie" eyes Jonz. She was at a LFS for about 6 months in a tank with no filter and nasty water. She was totally black when I got her, so she has come a long way from what she was like when I got her. One of her trailers is messed up and don't think it will ever look normal now. Her color has gotten a lot better, and pearls have come out now that she is in my tanks. She's still in a small tank, and I think once she gets in a bigger tank she will improve even more. I've only had her for about 3-4 weeks now so I think she has room for more improvements.

well dumped her in his tank today. He's pretty accepting of everything that I've put in there, so hope this goes well also. He's chaseing her, but not attacking, which is what he has done to every fish in there. He had a pike cichlid in there for a few months and didn't hurt it, and lived well with a female parrot for quite some time. She's about 1/3 his size so hope he doesn't put a whoopin on her. Her belly is big and looks like tube may be starting to drop. We shall see.
