I was curious on how to tell if a photo has been enchanced or photoshopped, so I did a little research. I'm sure others here know some good tips also. I have heard there are programs that you can buy that will show what type of camera was used, if picture was photoshopped, etc. but can't find it.

Lets all share our knowledge so we can spot the "fakes", and make sure WYSIWYG is really WYSIWYG!!!

Here is some information I found so far:

well if we can all learn to spot the "fakes" or retouched photos it will help us buyers a great deal IMO. Everyone should just hire Micki, Nelson Z, or blue ice (among others) to take their pictures. There are some great photographers out there that take great pictures without using photoshop.

if you open a questionable photo within photoshop. that said photo can easily be determined if it was altered by means of either checking color levels or other adjustments contained within photoshop. any experienced user of photoshop can tell.

Hmm... it very hard to see if a picture is color accurate to natural colors.
Lets see this piece. would this Kenzo be considered photoshop?
and why and why not?

This is the EXIF (Exchangeable image file format ) data which is embeded by most digital camera, you can use a basic EXIF reader http://www.snapfiles.com/get/exifreader.html

Fish head looks very abnormal compared to the body. Like there is no way this fish head will become protruding like that. Just my thought. However, it a nice 1 second pop of head.
Thanks for sharing bro Tung

I spent 10 second to do that, of course I can make it more real
This is how you get info of the picture: download the pix to your PC, right click at the picture choose properties ; summary, advance then you will see all the info of that picture. There is still ways to hide the info if they want to....

Thats due to the nature of the edge of new growth fins being semi transparent plus having used the sharpen filter will cause harsh outlines of defined foundries. jumbo-avatar (10).gif

and here is very weird about the enchanced pic is especialy the light seems to be in all in diffrent direction while the original is only in the top
and who in the world would have lights all over the tank when it should be at the top and it could be the flash form the camera but at least a part of the body of the fish should at least leave a little light reflection on it..
