sorry to say though but my stupid ebjd died on me today... i've heard that they were very hard to raise when young, but always thought of myself as a pretty good fish owner... unless your an expert and dedicate a lot of your time to fish.. dont own one of them

Thats always been the downside to them is their health and due to the massive line breeding. Beautiful fish but its a lot of luck and skill to keep them alive thought heir adult lives. Sorry for your loss bro.

Sorry hopefully this doesn't discourage you to try again later. Their colors look really neat.

Sorry for your lost bro. I have 5 of this EBJDs. I had it for almost 2 months now and have no problem. Someone on this site advises me to put a UV sterilizer 'cause they're very vulnerable to parasites and it works fine for me. I agree that if you don't have time to really take care of them, don't buy them. You need time to keep the water parameters perfect at all times. I added a fluidized bed filter to boost bacteria and a coral inside the tank to stabilized pH. So far, all of them are healthy and growing. With proper care and knowledge which I got from this site, everything went well. Just hope it stays that way. Wish me luck on this batch.

I used to breed them and sell them to all the lfs around me and my male breeder for 6 years b4 I got into a accident and I gave them all away he could still be alive.I'm the one who told the guy to get a uv sterilizer.here is the secret to keebing ebjd.a ph of no higher than 6.4 a uv sterilizer temp no lower than 82.fed no pellets ever.I fed all mine 4 years with only frozen emerald entre.their digestive track can't process dried food well or color enhancers their digestive system get attacked very fast.emerald entree is the perfect mix of foods with allot vegitable and green leaf foods wich they need for digestion.I had a thrird generation female reg demsey and a beautifull male ebjd wich were my breeders.I had a great ratio of healtgy ebjd and never lost them if tacken care of the way I described.also no other fish in the tank but ebjds they catch diseases that the other fish cary but there imune system works way better than the ebjd so the ebjd gets sick.remember ph 6.4 temp 82f uv sterilizer no pellets frozen emerald entree only no other fish in tank.it works
