I have a couple of pairs of blue rams in my discus tank, along with a few tetras. The rams are on a continual spawning cycle, although I have nowhere currently to raise the fry. The parents do a good job of protecting them when eggs and in the nursery pit, but as soon as they become free swimming, neons pick them off quite efficiently. The video below shows a brood first exploring from behind their flowerpot with Mum and Dad moving them back home if they wander too far. You can also see the opportunistic neons grabbing a mouthful every now and then. Within 3 hours of filming, the fry had been decimated.

Very nice! I used to be really into drawf cichlid such as Blue rams and all sorts of Apistos. Best of luck to your batch of babies.

Neat video. Your Rams look really good. It's nice that they actually raise their babies instead of eating the eggs like it seems a lot of strains of Rams do.
