My male flowerhorn has been scared all over the face and part of his body after the female got fed up with him. They're OK now maybe the male had enough of her and stopped chasing her. Will his face still go back to normal coloration of it will stay as permanent scar for him? What will I do to fix this one. I don't think I have to separate them anymore becuase I think they both know now who's the boss and stopped fighting. I should have left my frying pan in front of the tank to avoid this. LOL Any opinion and advise as per you experience will be highly appreciated. Thanks!

that female is pretty big for him too bro. Safer to use smaller female IMO. Sure you can nurse him back to health bro.

This couple grew up together and is inseprable ever since. I tried to pair this guy with a smaller one but the female just got beaten up. The big female doesn't seem to like the separation and stops eating afterwards. That makes me deside to pair them back. Just hope face will recover and scar will fade.

i would try seperating them with a divider if your tank is big enough but make sure they can't see eachother.. i went to the hardware store and got this flimsy white type of plastic board which isn't see through and slide in in the clips of the divider holder then she won't really know they are seperated unless she starts to miss him 4.gif

but as far as the bite marks go he will heal.. i have had plenty of those on my fish, loaches, discus and cichlids and they healed up nicely....

Good luck!

If he is not fading I can tell u those scares will never fully go away.just cause they are not fighting now doesn't mean they won't in the future and by the look of those scares I would get a big botle of melafix, pimafix, and stress coat.gl.pat
