I was lucky enough to be able to keep some tank reared sea horses in my nano. The tank in question was an all in one Orca 450, which is about 15 UK gallons. The tank came with compact T5 white and actinic tubes and also with some night time LEDs. The skimmer was a poor designed venturi system which was always breaking and to this day, still needs replacing.
The horses were fed on frozen Mysis shrimp that had been soaked in a vitamin solution at least three times a day. I had them for many months and they were very labour intensive. Unfortunately I had to let them go to a new owner because I started spending many days at a time away working, and horses need to be fed every day as they have no stomach. It was unfair to ask my wife to feed them as she didn't want the responsibility if they died. Here are some pics though: Newly introduced; Look at the difference once settled in. Cool Bro. I don't have any luck with them when I'm still in saltwater. GL

Once a week I would buy a couple of fresh bags of live adult brine shrimp. In the dish, I would slowly change the water from the bag to tank water and then I would add some Kent Chromaplex to gut load them. They had some fun hunting them down.

oh man.. i would never thought of keeping these fragile creatures lol.. very nice man, are they aggresive at all? If you can buy the captive bred fish, they are much more hardy than those caught from the sea. I never saw any aggression from them and they would feed from my hand. I only wish i'd had the time to spend with them and bring them on to maturity. Mark -------------------- |

Unfortunately because they have to be fed several times a day, they didn't fit into my work schedule where I could be away overnight. The Wife wasn't happy feeding them as she thought they were too fragile so I had to sell them on.
