hi im new here an new to flowerhorn's
so about aweek ago i got two fry flowerhorn i guess thats what it's called (fry) they was selling them for two for 9 bucks (wow what a steal )
so there was no mom or dad an the site
so other then guessing an hoping they will turn out great
what do you think?

looks like a Zhen Zhu, and VERY stressed. Have you checked your water parameters??

they are both in a 55g tank ....
an thats how they looked when i got them .... but now they have a lil more color

thats pretty normal, they change color with there mood. Once they are settled, they will look alot better. Plus it's hard to capture with a camera. That is a good tank for them, are they seperated yet?? Might want to have supplies ready in case they start to beat each other. Good luck with them bud. There is alot of information here for you to learn about your new pets bro. Post updates bud!!

again im new to this ...... but befor i got the fish the petstore said the water was fine.....
i do have some stress coat u think i can put that in?

stress coat is good stuff. The aloe is good for the fish's slime coat. Just keep water clean, and they will settle in your tank and won't be stressed. A lot of it is they are not used to you. You will find in time, these fish warm up to the hand that feeds them, and recognize you. Then you won't be this big scary creature to them, and that helps the most IMO. Keep the lights off most of the time to for awhile, that may help. Biggest thing is clean water, good varied diet, and time to adjust. They will be fine bro.

thanks again ..... when i put the S-coat in do i turn off the filters? i have two of them on there ....
an what are some good diets? guppies? worms ? feeders? how many hours of the day do i leave the lights off the tank

i never turn off my 20gallons tank light...but with all my other tank..i turn on the light when i get home from work til the time i go to sleep..bout 2-4hrs....

i feed my flowerhorn's pellet from chingsmix and some dry blood worms....i see u in kansas city,mo..which is about 2 1/2 hrs from des moines,iowa.... if u were in iowa...there's couple of crazy breeder here that will give u a very good deal

stress coat is a dechloranator never turn your filters off bro. YOu just add it when you do water change

all strains have there Mp and Low grades, not really such thing as a bad strain, just personal favorites.

most likely they will be a lil better than what u see now. good fish starter fish to see if u like the flowerhorn hobby.
