Thats a nice pair you have Minh and I'm glad your male is doing better now. That sucks that you don't live in SoCal because I can't get my females to stop laying eggs. Are you feeding your females with a variety of foods and giving them a spawning substrate? 4_12_12[1].gif

Sorry about the dirty glass guys lol. I just focus on waterchange and filters and rarely wipe the glass down. His color was actually was actually redder than this when he came in. The sellers picture shows him with awesome colors but I have been unable to bring it back.

I was thinking that but I'm not an expert on that issue so I never gave a 2nd thought about it. Now that I look at the picture again, it is just way too bling bling. Its still a nice fish and I love his personality, but I would not have paid the price I paid if it werent for the picture.

If you want to see its nice colors,
Try using redder spectrum flourescent lights.
Just look at the specs of the light, it goes from blueish white to more of a pinkish like
daylight and soft white. Also use a more redder colored gravel so the light reflected upward
will make the colors come out more.

I normally use a large 10 inch ceramic plate or large flowerpot from Home Depot. If you want to transfer the eggs after they spawn use only the plate. If you want to keep them in the same tank, use the flowerpot. You may get higher hatch rate useing a flowerpot because the milt from the male will be held in a more enclosed area where as if you used an open plate, the milt will be spread to the surrounding waters more quickly 101.gif
