Does anyone know the benefits of feeding bloodworms?
Or is it True that feeding bloodworms to flowerhorn will increase Color?
Is there a limit to feeding them? Or however much they can consume?

Also, which kind should I get?

A) Freeze Dried
12.gif Frozen
C) Fresh

Thanks for all suggestions

Blood worms can be fed to your flowerhorn's and yes it does enhances color. Dried foods is the safest though if you are afraid of the risks of your fish getting sick

I use the Hikari bio pure vitamin enriched bloodworms, and I believe they help a great deal with the color. Just my experience, but they are great. Protien is very low on them for some reason, but I think the color improvement is good with them.

Sold at Petco.. They are frozen and sold for $4.99 with 40 round balls full of worms.

If you feed live bloodworms, remember to rinse them really well before feeding them to your fish.

But feeding them 'Live' is not more of a benefit than freeze/frozen?
Or is there?

Yes, feeding them live is more nutritional. The redness in bloodworms (good source of protein) will increase the color in no time.

I use frozen. The Hikari bio pure are frozen. I think freeze dried has more protien. either is fine, live are good also if you can get them.

Well I think that freeze dried blood worms show that they have more protein is because they're dry of course. However, I remember bro Jonz bring up a poin that bloodworms carry moister which helps with absorbtion of pellets better. I personally stick with fresh or frozen. I'm not a big fan of the dry stuff.

i usually buy the live bloodworms and then rinse it with water and freeze it myself, and cut it up into small cubes when i feed my flowerhorn. I think its fresher that way instead of buying the frozen pack thats been sittin there for awhile.
I usually feed them blood worms as treats and to fill them up, only after they finish eating pellets. But everyone has a different way of feeding, buying and preparing, just do what suites u most.

I dont like those, they are a pain. The Hikari seem to be higher quality and about the same price

Oh really Dan?
Why are they a pain?
I throw one in and my fish just swallows the whole thing...
I think it's less waste and less messy..

But I'll check out the Hikari anyway..
