I use the 50/50 light. My fish use to be ok with constantly lid tank. Recently he be come afraid of it. He would turn dark and stay at the bottom of the tank barely moving. When i turn off the light, he comes out and play like normal. Has anyone experience this? Is there something abnormal about it?

Thanks
Khoa

Is your fish new to the tank? How long has he been in there? Usually those are signs of 'new fish' getting used to the environment

First of all you shouldn't be leaving your light on constantly. I'm assuming you meant 24hrs a day it was on. Fish need to sleep like humans. If you don't believe me run your light like you SHOULD 12hrs on and 12hrs off and get up in the middle of the night and look at your fish. It will be resting at the bottom somewhere sleeping. If you had your lights on 24hrs a day and just changed his light cycle all of a sudden you may have got him all mixed up. Keeping the light off made him comfortable. Remember fish don't have eyelids, so messing with their lights can scare them. Get a timer and give him a normal day and night cycle and he will adjust accordingly.

No the fish is not new. This behavior is recently adopted.

I do not have the light on 24 hrs/day. I would say no more than 8hrs a day.

There must have been some change, maybe food, decoration, water perams. If you had this fish for a while now, acting normal and then a sudden change, you mustve added/changed something to his environment, food or water to make him like this. Fish usually act like this situation if they are new to the tank, a change in something, or maybe sick.

Sorry bro, I thought you said you had your light on constant. I would take account of anything different since you got him. Any new rocks, wood, decorations etc.
