sorry mods didnt know where to post this.
i have a Super Red Texas iv grown out for a while (6 to 7 months)

hes in a 100 gallon tank divided with him in 60%to his g/fs 40% of space, he has some rocks and a large peice of drift wood and fake plants.
as of late he has gotten REALLY wild and agrressive to anything to come close to the tank, i dont want him cutting himself on the rocks and i feel he needs more room now to grow.

should i add coral chips? does it matter with SRTs? also is the driftwood bad for him, im putting a black substrate and black background this week.

Unless he's dying I don't think driftwood is bad, however he is a mix so he might like higher ph, take it out and do wc see what happens, if he's progressing then u can add a handful of coral, doing all at once could be too much for him so take time.

Very nice Super Red Texas u got there

thank you, yea just wondering if any one had one before/played with the ph etc.
the driftwood has gotten his tank very dirty as of late (he keeps smacking it around)so im going to pull it out lol.

ill add the coral and see about his head.
hes very picky about hit clean water/black spots will show up when the quality gets under his liking lol
love him his name is Promo (Promethius)

IMO, You should take out the Rocks and the driftwood... and also if you're planning to breed him with your female... Try to check first if he's fertile and try to breed him with a blood parrot first... You won't wanna risk the life of your female just to find out the male is not fertile... Better try with blood parrot, 'coz they are cheap... :-)

i agree, shes in there just to see if he has any interest in her, so far he doesnt care much for her.
i need to get a few King Kong Parrot i have a coky(sp?) blood parrot but i want a King Kong Parrot.

and rocks/driftwood is now gone and he has a black substrate.

I think your Super Red Texas is still too young to breed bro... That's why he is not showing any interest towards the female... :-)
