Well I havn't updated this guy in awhile. He damaged a scale on a rock and it got a little infected about a month ago, but he's healed just fine, just missing 2 scales on one side. I'm sure he'll grow them back in time though. I've been taking my time with him, and not pumping him too fast. His head seems to be fading more and more, and his kok is popping a little bit. He is pretty mellow for a flowerhorn and shares his tank with a parrot and a 6" Pike cichlid that is allways hiding. He likes to dominate both fish, but only chases them, they don't have one blemish on their fins or anything so I think this is a good mix for him. I wish his tail was bigger though, that is the one thing about him I am not super happy with, but other than that, he's turning out really really nice IMO. Tail isn't that bad either, but it is a tad on the small side I think.

yeah I was afraid of that. A lot of people said my finger chaser would develop drop tail, but he hasn't. this guy looks like he may get drop tail

IM still a little skeptical on it developing drop tail, the tail looks kinds short for it to be drop tail. some times you take the pic at a weird angle where the tail looks collapsed but really isn't. Post a vid, we will be able to tell better!

he keeps his tail kinda scrunched up sometimes too so maybe thats just it. Either way it's still a lil small. I freakin love this fish either way though, it really doesn't matter to me. If it does develop drop tail, it's not a huge deal to me.

Looking great joe!everyone says all these fh's will develope dt I don't buy it 4 a minute all fh's grow up dif and sum do developè dt but I think people are getting carried away with the diagnoses if that tail hasn't dropped it doesn't have dt if it dropes then it does.u can't say it hasn't dropped yet because u never no if it ever will .he will be a master bro and he doesn't have dt.I can't and no one hear can predict the future so u open that can of beans then.gl pat

Time to update again. Doing WC today so figured I'd take picture before I did them. Coming along nicely. Love the colors and pearls. Head has been kind of a dissapointment, and I wish the tail was a little stronger, but I really love this fish. Color and pearls are very impressive IMO. Hopefully his head will pop more at some point.
