Well I have never been into naming my fish but had to name this guy. My favorite constalation since I was a kid has been Orion, and when I was 32 I took up hunting so what better name right? This guys pearls looks like stars. This is my first MP and I am sooo excited to finally have him in my tank. These pictures and video where right after he went tank, like 5-10 minutes. He is not as dark now and seems to love his new home. So here he is 4.gif I will update once he settles in more, and as he progresses.

You thought about changing up the decor to show off this fish?

Ugly fish though should send to me.

don't think I can do that Dan. I'm a driftwood, plant (real or fake), natural substrate kinda guy. Just don't like the colored gravel too much. His colors are a lot better in person too, just can't bring myself to put red rocks and funky background in my tank.

Its always hard to capture the true color of a fish but I hear you about the tanks. We are both natural guys but it does help bring out the color of the fish out. Also I know driftwood bring the pH down, whats the PH in the tank? Just asking not bustin bawls cause I love the look but know a higher pH is better.

I love this fish and keep them update coming. Oh added this for you in the smilies

hahaa Thanks so much Dan. I have about a pound of coral in the AC70 filter and ph has been 7.3-7.5. Change water every 5-7 days also to help keep ph up. May add another HOB with strictly crushed coral to keep ph up. I may play around more later but he keeps improving so not in a big hurry. KoK has popped out a bit in last few days so hope that trend keeps up!! I'll post updates soon.

What do you think of this...

Drilling a ac and extending the holding capacity and just let it dump into the tank...

That is an MP for sure Joe.
I think you need more colorful substrate and background in order to make this fish shine to his full potential.

I'm a hunter too. I'm into muzzleloading and handguning for deer, elk, and bear.

not sure what you mean Dan??

Might be willing to try new background, and only way I could change substrate would be to put red lava rock that you use in flowerbeds as a "red" substrate. Can't do the painted gravel, makes me cringe LOL.

well like get a plastic container and drill a couple of 1" holes and connect the two so rather then it just dumping into the tank it fills up the second chamber and dumping into the tank. You can use that extra space to add the coral

well I my King Kong Parrot is getting ready to lay again so decided to try her with Orion and see if he can do the deed. He's all worked up since I put her in. He is flaring and and chasing her, but not getting to aggresive. He didn't put a single scratch on teh blood parrot that was in with him from the start. I'll let you all know if it works out. I'm guessing she should lay in the next 4 or 5 days.
