the package says free of "sex" hormones, and nothing in the ingredients doesn't point to the use of hormones IMO. But I can't say 100% that it doesn't. I have researched and in my opinion is doesn't, but this does not mean that it's true.

James is very open about this topic and has no problem with hormone food as its up to the person to make that choice and will guide people to those choices if thats what they want.

As stated before there are no hormones in Chingmix pellet.
If there were, would any of the breeders like japro and ILC feed it to there fishes.
First thing in feeding hormone food would cause sterility.

Simon also fed Chingmix to his breeders before and his breeders are still capable of breeding.
In fact, by feeding Chingmix, he also noticed a higher % fertility rate. I believe he posted this before
on FHUSA. If you want you can search for that thread.

The main reason why people would accuse Chingmix of hormones is because it works so well
and also the fish becomes more active. But just try breeding the fish, if the fish is still fertile
then that can conclude that it is hormone free.

James I have to disagree with how you present your argument. While I do not know if Chingmix contains hormones , one thing that I know is that the fish that people overseas use for breeding usually do not have bright colors because they do not feed them the usual flowerhorn food. I myself am very skeptical of the various miracle foods and prefer instead to feed my flowerhorn and other fish Hikari instead. It is healthy and if your fish has the potentials it will bring it up.

I think what James is getting at is breeders avoid hormones for their fish because of the negative effect its has on reproduction which is the main purpose of that fish. ILC and JaPRO as well may other breeders now feed their fish chingmix to both breeders and competition fish.

another claim is if hormones will shorten the life of your fish. So does it?

this could be a myth that needs to be debunk as well but for them picture perfect photo to sell, they uses them powder form hormones to bring out a temporary effect in the fish. An instant miracle powder so of speak and it comes in a really small can like a can for chewing tobacco.

Someone should talk more about it

The reason why I state this is because if you where to see Japro fishes, they do pump them up with chingmix at times.
Then after that, they do select some of there fries to use for breeding. If Chingmix does have hormone in it, then
most likely there fries would not be able to use as breeders since it is a fact that hormones causes sterility to fishes.
That is what I am trying to present. I do trust the Manufacturer and I believe they have had it tested before.

Currently, everything does not have any validity to it, whether it does or does not. If anyone knows of a place where
I can send Chingmix to get tested, Do let me know cause it is hard for me to find a testing facility for testing hormones.
But so far, I dont see anyone requesting for a test result for other brands. So it kind of not fair right?

Exactly, how could anyone disprove it otherwise?
There was a discussion on this exact topic on FHUSA a while back and this one guy was going take some ChingMix to an FDA lab to do a steroid test.
He was all BS and never followed through.
I mean, who's got the time and he money to go through all that just trying to find hormone.
This stuff is out for a while now so you would think people already made all kinds of noises if there were hormone affects such as infertility, liver damage, imature sexual developemnt, and early sudden deaths.
