Well I ended up having to move him out of the big tank and moved his gf in with him but I am going to see what results I can get out of him with no female and a nice diet of SP80 and some mealworms. Here are some updated shots and one thing I have been impressed with was the coloring on his head. He had a part and was bare no pearls or colors but looks like that may be changing. Also a unique feature I discovered on him was the bright orange tips on his trailer, kinda cool :)

Hi Dan,

I added the before picture here so people can see the differences. I must say, I am very amazed on the differences, I once doubted that his kok can pop out, but now it seems like it does have a chance to pop out more, also his color is definitely nicer.

Thanks james for posting that pic, I should have posted a before pic 36_11_22[1].gif

You can see the pearling also has come out on his cheeks and the red has really come through on him. One thing I have noticed and said before is the HB is very smelly and man he is like a shark on the scent of blood once a pellet hits the water and looks all over for the cm.

Hey Dan, nice update on the Shinto. I have another new type of Shinto Dragon that I would really like to see you pump up if you have any room. I'm not really giving him enough space right now and your tank is way larger than what I'm giving him. Let me know if you are interested. It would be cool to see what the new Chingmix will do the the Shinto. 104.gif

I think This topic got Simon's attention.
I know how it feels to see your own breed showing potential.
Its like a proud parent feeling. Hope to see more of your breeding projects.
Your one of the few that have the passion in breeding.

I myself have just started up my breeding project again and I am not doing it for the money
but rather just for fun and the hobby. I do hope I can have another successful batch.

Hope to see more updates in a month or so.

Loving the body shape Danz, great job with him! Looks like he enjoys having his own pad! SP80 works for those who care for their fish properly

Hey James, I know exactly what you are talking about, I've actually been losing so much money with each spawn I get because electricity and water bill keeps going up. I loose thousands upon thousands of dollars each year I breed and this is no exaggeration but I keep doing it because I love these fish. I actually have several breeds going right now that are showing lots of potential but I'll let Dan post the pics if he ever picks up the fish because I don't have enough room to pump them up at my place. Come on Dan set up those tanks so members can see my new breeds before and after the Chingmix.

Very nice improvement Dan.
Just a thought though, he looks a bit fat.
My experience with fat fish is their kok usually don't come out fully.
I would keep him on that diet but try to trim him down some by feeding less and fasting.
One thing though, once a fish get too fat, it is very difficult to rid of the gut fat.

Thanks everybody for the kind words :) He is my boy and this has been my fav fish and he is a hoot to watch. His new thing is getting a massage from the output of the filter and floats to the top and lets it push him to the bottom then turns over and does it over and over. I should take a video 36_11_22[1].gif

I am going to ask the wife to let me setup the 60g for my birthday present :) I want to also thank you Simon because I know you do put in a lot of effort in every way to these fish and you have made something awesome. Thank bro for the enjoyment your dedication has brought me.

Ya he is on the chubby side, I have backed off his live food and added some veg based pellets into his blend so hopefully can manage him at what he is and go down a little.
