This is my 1500 gallon pond built next to my house..took about a week to get going. I've stocked it probably twice with koi and flagfish. Lots of growth going on now that its spring. I'm building a houseon three acres now and it definately going to be 5 times larger :)

Crud..issues with uploading photos..will do it when i get back from movies....wife is rushing me..lol

Nice... I am in the midwest.......it's still snowing here. I can't wait to get mine back up and running too.... I thought I'd be able to do it this weekend... but I was wrong.

Hope to see pics of your pond real soon.

OK! after some spring cleaning, I've got the pond looking half decent. I hope the photos come through, if not..i'll have to be schooled on how to post them properly..lol. Made this in a week. Had a friend come out with his backho and dig near south portion of house. Placed all the dug up dirt near the bay window for viewing during breakfast. Made a small 3 tier water stream down to the pond. I have probably about 3 pumps in the pond, assorted water lillies, pond grass, etc.

I have a couple of decent koi, large goldfish, flagfish, fantails and a huge Pleco in there somewhere, which by the way is waiting to eat me up when i get in again to clean :0

gonna try to attach photos now..any comments would be cool..always trying to make it better eye candy :)

You can always make an indoor one :) seen a few in the day, some in the garage, you dont have a big enough yard? This is my only release, besides watching my tanks inside, i go outside for chores and sit around the pond, knee deep in water, working..lol petting the fish, messing with frogs..lol

wow.. really nice set up.. i never had Koi's but always wanted a pond.. when i get a house i will definately get one set up..

not sure what part of the world you live in...lol but does it freeze in the winter? If so can the fish actually survive in such cold water?

I know a friend who had some type of gold fish (no Koi's) and plecos and weather loaches that were able to live below the ice so i guess i just answered my own question..lol but wow thanks for sharing... it is beautiful.. very nice set up.. i'm so jealous...lol

thanks for the comments :) Yeah, they live there year round, its gotten to about 26 here in Ausitn Texas this past winter and they all did fine. I have flagfish for algae, and the koi spawned and had a large amount of fry. I enjoy the large gold fish and the fantails...

I wade in the pond when im cleaning and they come up to me and I rub their head..lol they eat from my fingers as well..lol

Its very relaxing :)

awwww.. that's so nice.. I don't know if the Koi would survive where i live.. i'm in Toronto, ON Canada and it gets well below freezing here in the winters... but i would definately give it a try when we purchase our house just maybe start off with a couple and see if they make it through the winter season.. but i'm still a little afraid about the racoons and stray cats.. wouldn't they jump in and grab the fish??... i know my cats would if they got outside..

Yeah, I got a 50 gal half barrel gravel filter at top of waterfall. I just put a 3000 gph pump in the pond.. 115.gif and had to cut down on the water..lol its so powerfull. Im building a trashcan filter now to help with the pond..putting another pump going to the trashcan ...so it should clear water up good :)
