are those wheels going to stay when the tank is full Leng?? Might want some stroger wheels IMO. might be nasty if one of those breaks under all that weight. Around 600 pounds just in water alone. 83.5 gallons is going to be pretty heavy. You add the tank, and gravel if your using it and thats a pretty big load to support.

Very nice bro. Always love it with neat diy ideas!

Let us know what you decide to put in it!

Also did you make the tank yourself?

good thinking joe... well to be on the safe side... once i know where i wanna put my tank...i will put something under the stand to support incase the wheels cant handle it...kinda like a jack stand for tank...lol

OMG! you are a very brave man bro! and really, i cross my fingers and toes and wish you the best of luck on this tank.. I cant even start to imaging the water pressure from the 39"T and 15" wide tank... I see that you are using the wood to clamp them together, but have you water tested it? over time, the wood will soften due to moisture and make sure the bolts are on tight! what thickness acrylic did you use.. from what i see, it no thicker then 3/4" and serious bro.. that may be disasterous.. just looking out for you and not have a tank bust on you after you have it filled with fish in it.. good luck bro.

What did I tell yah 36_11_22[1].gif Thats some serious water pressure, for your test fill I would do it outside or move to to the bath tub. Try painting all the wood with drylock its not made to waterproof wood but some people have had good luck with it.

I would also get one of these 24"

I have been reading everything I can about tank building and know that if you go over 24" the standard tables to not apply for glass/acrylic thickness. Thats a lot of pressure and sounds like he already has a leak and I wouldn't be surprised if he has more in the future. You think framing out the tank would help lock it all in?

Looking good bro, I say go for it, but like danz said, better fill it up outside the house just in case! belly_laugh.gif

It would be nice if you can make the water inlet longer so you circulate the water from top to bottom.

Keep us updated bro!!!

framing would help alittle, but its the overall pressure and the thickness that scares me the most, for any tank over 30"T, I always recommend at least 1" thick acrylic (VERY EXPENSIVE), on all of my 48"T tanks that i built, i have always used 1 1/4" thick acrylic.. at that pressure, its not the seem that you worry about, its the acrylic surface that will bow out (kinda like a ballon) and over time, it will stress out the acrylic so much it will eventuall bust (not crack).. I always love to see new projects and tank dimensions, he has a very good idea and i like the layout a lot, its just the structural integrity that i am worry about..
