I'm setting up a new tank 120 gal (96x16x18), which divided into 6 already. I'm looking for a filter for that tank, so far I like 2 of these.

*Rapids Pro Series Wet/Dry Filter Systems
-700GPH, for up to 150 gal tank

*Fluval FX5 Canister Filter
-925GPH, for up to 400 gal tank

what do you think about 2 of those, which one is better or what is your suggestion?
Thank you.

i would go with the fx5, the 1st set look kinda crappy and complicated!!
Moon had one@ Superway and it pretty fragile!! 4_12_12[1].gif 4_12_12[1].gif

drill the hole on the counter for the w/d would be the best way for a stable filtration!! 12.gif

i agree..... the first looks more complicated but i would perfer the fx5 better because it dose the job more easier in a smaller size

Fluval FX5 is a monster. The other one looks too complicated. OR you can go DIY and save yourself alot of $.

I've heard that the Fluval FX5 is very good but you need to take into consideration the output from the FX5. If your tank is already divided into 6 equal compartments, I'm assuming that the section with the output will get the full velocity of the water coming out of the filter, this will be too much for your fish. You will also encounter problems if you have a spraybar because installation of the spraybar will be hindered by the dividers. If you have pics of your tank, that will help. 4_12_12[1].gif

None of the above.
One filtration system will give you problems in a highly divided tank.
The food and crap from one side will be pushed to the other side especially using the FX5.
You should look into the AC filters and pick out the largest size per divided compartment.
As a team, the AC will out filter the FX5.

But a none divided tank, I would go with the FX5 for the cool current.
