Awesome pickup. Is this your first Bichir? You're going to love it. They're addicting.

Very nice! I always wanted to get bichirs, but i dont think the would had been good tank mates with the fishes i have kept over the years. Flowerhorns and Discus 36_11_22[1].gif Great looking fish and update us when they become monsters!

The pic was him in the bottom of my filter. Evidently, he jumped up into the filter while I was gone. I thought he had jumped out and my M.I.L.'s cat got him or my daughter, lol. He was there the whole time though...

That's awesome. I'd love an Ornate. They're supposed to be more aggressive than Senegals though. And they get much bigger. I have two regular Senegals and two Albino Senegals.

If it's a HOB filter I'd switch to a cannister so there's no opening for the Bichirs to get into. You can't have even the smallest opening in the lid of the aquarium or your Bichirs will end up on the floor. They're worse than Arowanas about getting out of the tank. I've got just slots for the inlet and out tubes for the cannister filters and there's duct tape around those so they can't push through that way either.

Thanks, Katt, I'll have to keep that in mind. I've been looking for a canister filter so hopefully I can find one...
