I know that I.D. Texas cichlid is hard but wats is the best way to I.D. a female Texas cichlid???

Does it have a black dot on the top fin???

no pointing top/bottom fin???

no hump???

less pearl???

wats is it??? how do we really I.D. a female Texas cichlid???

Can yah help me out?

the best way to know a female texas is to buy one that laid eggs bro 108.gif , and buy the female from a honest saler , or get it by seying her lay eggs in a vedio or some pictures ..

thats the best way to buy a female teas ..

wow that harder then i thought...
i talk to a person that work at excotic and he told me that a female texas dont have pointing top/bottom fins...is it true??

When I choose a female texas....I go for the black dot on the dorsal fin and square (shorter body). Also, observe how it behave (sometime helps).

Try Capital Aquarium, saw a few there. Good luck on finding one...

From my personal experince the black dot on the top dorsal fin works really well for me when trying to spot a female texas cichlid. However, I would like to add that this method, at least for me,works more accurretly with fishes that are 3 inches. Just my personal opinion though.
