How many times you guys ask your selves these questions:

-WHY my fish isn't happy??????
-WHY my fish don't show his best potential if my water conditions is very good or is really different type of water where they coming from?????
-WHY my fish looks AWESOME when he was with the breeder and with me looks not to good or really ugly?????
-WHY my fish can be fine for months or years and suddenly for no real reason,my fish got sick with fatal consequence??????
-WHY etc,etc,etc...??????????????

May be this is the reason guys; parasites worms in their stomach,LIKE THIS ONE:

I disagree to some other menbers who said,"don't worry if your fish eat well,he is OK"
Parasites are easy to get rid off but has to be taken seriously, different types of parasites can be cure with different types of molecules.
-CESTODES(flatworms): with molecula PRAZIQUANTEL or NICLOSAMIDE
-NEMATODES(roundworms): with molecula LEVAMISOLE or FENBENDAZOLE
to me FENBENDAZOLE is the best to kill all different types of parasites worms.
OK,now let me tell you guys about my experience:
When i bought this fish few months ago(4 inches),after one week i saw he released one very small worms from his anus like those but alive,
i never put attention about that because i thought the small worm was from the food, few weeks after i was watching to him scratching his body
but i never understood WHY!!!!! because he never show me visible symptoms like Ich,protozoan velvet or parasites in his body
Few weeks ago someone told me that "YOUR FISH NEED DEWORMING BECAUSE SOME OF THEM FROM OVER SEAS COMING WITH PARASITES
WORMS IN THEIR STOMACH",so immediately i contacted to Mr. Roundhead because i know he is a very good doctor and together found the solution "FENBENDAZOLE",
and i decided start: this is my 2 weeks deworming treatment bros:
I used FENBENDAZOLE mixed with bloodworms, the firts week i feed him for 3 days but i didn't see any parasites droping by his anus,i skid one
week, and i started the second week treatment for 3 days also, the second day my fish started droping this kind of nasty parasites worms,I hope
he eliminated all of them.
You might consider treating all of your fish at the same time.
If you are using the same net, same water hose, same water bucket, or anything that is shared with your other tanks, it is most likely everything is contaminated.
Treat everything at the same time and you will not have that doubt on the back of your head.
OK guys this was my experience and I hope you guys take really seriously about deworming fish, specially with the new fish.

I'm very glad you see the light now. I have been advising folks for a very long time now about deworming FHs and well some listen & learn… & others don't. I quarantine all my imported FHs and deworm them.

Thanks for sharing your own experiences. I hope others will see the light as well.

Hey Luis thanks for showing everybody about this.
Too bad that it happened to your fish but your post is very valuable and education for the forum.
If you don't mind, please show the before and after pics of the fish if you have any so that we can have a visual comparison.
And please include all the symptoms such as eating habit, swimming behavior, and a "poop" analysis of the before and after treatment.
Diarhea or soft stool is an indicator of worms in action.

Worming doesn't hurt the fish at all (if it is done correctly), it only makes them feel a bit uncomfortable during the treatment; however fish with worms can cause many other unexplanable sickness.

I think Dan should pin this topic.

They're most likely be dead or dying otherwise they prefer to be in the stomach.

This is so important.
Every fish can get sick so easily if these deworming arent done.
I like to do these treatments every 2 to 3 months. Because
all these internal diseases and parasites can affect the fishes through
food, or just bad water. So I believe it is the same as dogs and chickens.
My dogs and Chickens goes through these deworming and medications
to get rid of these internal diseases. So i also do the same to my Fishes.
They all need it.

parasites are usually host specific, so don't worry.
but just to be sure, next time close your mouth. 36_11_22[1].gif

haha, how do you keep fish if you're afraid of the water???
can you imagine what crap is swimming around in your tank water?
if you don't have any cuts, open sores on your hands, don't worry.
if you're still chicken, wear a glove. 22.gif

Piperazine: nematodes

Fenbendazole: Camallanus

Levamisole: various nematodes

Mebendazole: Cestodes & monogenetic flukes

Niclosamide: Cestodes

Praziquantel: Cestodes & monogenetic flukes

What do I use?

"AP" Fluke Tabs… works like a charm!
