hi guys,
can some of your bros and sis show me a way to cure this guy.. on one side of his pectoral fin is swelling..i think its getting bigger. i checked the water, everything was normal. He doesn't eat much anymore. he gets scare when i get close to the tank..he doesn't swim around as much anymore. i really don't know what happened to him. Can you tell what it is from the pics?

get some metro! and use the metro bath technique for him and keep the water extra clean! He has got an infection.

I agree. It looks like fungus... I would treat him with metro (bath) like Will said above.. he should heal but don't let it go to long and make sure your water is pristine..

Looks like he's got an infection and the fungus is just a secondary infection.
Move him to a 10gal and treat him with Erythromycin (E.M.), salt, and lots of aeration.
E.M. fights wide range bacteria and fungus.
If you can't find E.M., you can use any antibiotics that is a broad spectrum for pos and neg bacteria as well as fungus.
You don't need to raise the heat, just use the same temp he's in now.
Take the water directly from the existing tank and transfer it over to the 10gal.
You should do a 50% water change every 2 days with aged water or water from your existing tank of the same temperature and treat for 10 days.
Just add more water to your existing tank and use it's water for the hospital tank.
Don't feed him anything until the 7th day just a couple of pellets.

thanks for all the help guys..he's getting better now. still has alot of healing to do though. his head shrunk from 100% down to 0%.
