6' kiddie pool I got for the kids they they dont use anymore and before the sun wrecked it I took it into my future mini farm :)

The area still needs more work and now that I have one up I am determined to get more up. I used a enhim 2215 canister for temp filtering till I can build proper filtration and 2 established sponges for filtration. I tossed in some extra flowerhorn and some other fish I dont care about so we will see how they do. So far the blue channel cat is in heaven kungfu.gif

GHETTO!!!!!!!!... Hahahahahahahahaha

I love how u have the filter output bar hanging over the side hahahaha

It's a start though..

you should get one of them hard plastic pools they have at Walmart.. here they cost like $150 and they are a good size.. that one looks like it's about to give out... lol

I wish i had a backyard:) but i live in Canada so it would only be out there for a couple months before it turns to ice:)

Ya the pool was all bent up and collapsing on it self so I used a bunch of block I found all over the property and will add another row to lock it in. I got a couple of cons in there but they didnt do too good to got them out. I though by using established filters and lots of used tank water would help but nope. My cycle fish that has cycled every tank I have ever owned for almost 3 years is doing his job. The pond is 250g and Ive been looking up larger pools to use so hopefully I can save some money up and setup a couple of pools and get a nice breeding program up.

I would really like to get 2 of these up
$229 - POOL CAPACITY- 1100 GALLONS APPROXIMATE SETUP SIZE 6 ft. x 10 ft. x 28 in. DEEP WEIGHT- 60 POUNDS *INCLUDES STABILIZERS, AND BOTTOM RAILS 3 YEAR WARRANTY

also with my pond plans you can alway alter sizes and even make a few ponds all connected with waterfalls and 1 main filter system.

Your funny!

Well the water is cycled now and have 2 more fish in there and temp has been staying 75 in the shade. I love Socal :) Once summer is over I will build a solar water heater and add the skylight to help heat the pool but not overheat it. I am still thinking about how I am going to section off the tank so I can get some breeding

thats a cool pond bro.
But the bigger pool type is much better.
My friend has two of those similar type but round type.
He uses it for talapia. Would be good for raising other fishes though.
I am planning on build a small pond as well. Just the plastic type sold in the
gardening area in home depot. But thats prob a bit later. like next year.

Ya I wan to go larger but can work my way up to it. This will be for breeding the smaller fish (convict projects) and growing out my existing stock of fish in my 125g.

sounds like its gonna turn into a big project. 4_12_12[1].gif 4_12_12[1].gif i like the idea of the square pools.

i am just trying to figure what the fark are you gonna use to "divide" it off into breeding sections? 4_12_12[1].gif

explain please, cause this might work next year for my pond.

I am thinking about making a big X out of egg crate about 12" tall and then attach a crap load of green zip ties to simulate grass or whatever for fish to hide in and lay down slate tiles and piles of beach rocks. There will be 4 sections and the fish will be able to get around but its ment to section off so they can spawn in a corner and easier for smaller fish to hide.
