hell yeah, variety is the best!, most people use live feed as a treat like 2-3 times a week. But its all up to you on how you want to treat your flowerhorn, for a feed, you should use a everyday staple like pellets. It gets messy with live feedings so make sure any uneaten food is taken out.

mealworms are good, earthworms, crickets, are a few. I would be carefull with feeders as they carry disease sometimes. I give them once every couple months TOPS. Maybe 2-3 times a year just for fun. I throw my culls in tehre though. Raw shrimp and bloodworms are good choices also.

For sure. I tend to use a variety of pellets and frozen food and once and a while "treat" them with something wild. I actually have a video of my largest flowerhorn Charles eating a green frog. If you want to you can check it out on youtube. Just search for flowerhorn decapitates frog. Should be by Brynjatheninja. It was pretty fun watching him too. He sucked it in and after about 2 min. spit it back out without a head. Later on that night he ate all but the legs and in the morning those were gone too. Lol.

Yes the bait shop worms are great u usually don't have to gut them because they are not eating in those containers cause they are refrigerated.if u dig them up gut them .meal worms feed whole.
