convicts are great fish for kids IMO. Very hardy, and they breed like mad like others have said. It's fun for them to watch them hatch and grow up.

oh yeah, they are whores bro. I have heard of them breeding with jags, firemouths, dempseys, parrots, severums, texas, Honduran Red Point, and many more.
