I think it helps buffer the ph and other stuff but its expensive stuff!

yes, it's limestone based so will help keep PH up like crushed coral does. Prices are somewhat decent on ebay.

Hey guys, yes these rocks aren't cheap. The nice looking onse around $125-$250 a piece. I'm planing to get one.

hold off a bit bro, a local cichlid forum had a holey rock group buy for $1 a pound let me try and see if they have any left. I'll get back with you.

FYI crushed coral is also limestone based I seen DIY for making your own holey rock lookalikes looks the same but doesnt buffer your h20
