Disease And Cure On Flowerhorn[/B][/SIZE][/U]

1) Diseases: Fungus Infection
Cause: Poor water conditions
Wounded body
Fungus parasite infection

Symptoms: cotton look alike object starts to grow on body

Remedy: Increase water temperature (30’C to 31’C)
Antibiotic or anti-bacteria medical
Malachite Green, Zinc-Free Oxalate or Methylene Blue

2) Disease: Dehydration
Cause: Poor water conditions
Infected by bacteria or worms

Symptoms: swollen stomach, popping eyes and scales,

Remedy: Improve water condition
Antibiotic or anti-bacteria medical


3) Disease: Columnaris
Cause: Parasite infection
Poor water condition (bacteria)

Symptoms: Cotton wool look alike object appeared on mouth or gill area, loss of
appetite, less mobile and its so infectious that can cause the death of
Other tank mate.

Remedy: quatin the fish in a hospitle tank, put 13ml of ‘Tetracycline’ per 1 litre of
Water for 6 days; change half the tank water everyday with the same
amount of ‘Tetracycline’ added.

4) Disease: Hole in the hole
Cause: Poor water conditions
Lack of minerals and microorganism in fish
Infected by Hexameter and bacteria

Symptoms: Different sizes of holes appear on the head

Remedy: Improved water condition
Increase more minerals and microorganism in food
Antibiotic or anti-bacteria medical

5) Disease: Whirling (in shock)
Cause: Transferring of fish from acidic water to alkaline water or from low
Temperature water to higher temperature water or vice-versa

Symptoms: Unsuitability of environment causes anxiety and loss control of
Equilibrium and knock itself wildly till suffocation

Remedy: Prevention is better than cure, test the temperture and water quality
Before transferring fish to any new evemant

6) Disease: Ich (White-spot)
Cause: Ichthyophthirius multifilis

Symptoms: White spots of 0.5mm – 1mm are found on the surface of body,
Fins, eyes gills etc

Remedy:


7) Disease: Tail and Fin rot
Cause: Injured during transferring of fish
Poor water conditions
Parasite attack
Cytophage colunnaris infection

Symptoms: Tails and Fins will becomes discoloured, taking on an opaque,
Bluish-white colouration, bleeding will occur.

Remedy: Improved water conditions
Antibiotic or anti-bacteria medical


8) Disease: Mouth infection
Cause: Mouth wounded during transit or fight
Infected By Bacteria
Saprolegnia sp bacteria living on the fish

Symptoms: Reddish and swollen mouth, thread like object filamentous.

Remedy: Single-out sick fish
Methylene Blue, Malachite Green or Zinc-Free Oxalate.[/QUOTE
