I've seen stripes on my fish,looks like tiger stripes.Is it natural?Does it mean stress?Help me on this friends.

If you mean black bars on the fish that are not there all the time then that can be due to stress or just can sinply be a mood change.
My flowerhorn gets it when your about to feed him because he knows he's getting fed. I think it's excitment or he just really loves the chingmix...lol. As soon as those pellets drop the bars go away. If i move him into a different tank he will get them as well but they will stay longer. Try to make your fish as comfortable as possible and make sure your water quality is great and he will be fine. -------------------- ![]() ![]() |

Normal during breeding, most likely stressed otherwise. And for some, it's natural/genetics.

you should post pictures bud, but >90% chance your fish is fine. Like others said, stress bars, or has to do with breeding behavior. Allmost certain it's nothing to worry about. Share your fish with us, and welcome aboard.
