This isnt really a DIY but I will do it after I redo my filters.
If you have ever wondered how efficent your filtration is and how quickly you can turn over the water as well the water movement in your tank simply add a couple of drops of methblue and site back and watch it mix into the tank. I have found a couple of dead spots and used powerheads to help there. -------------------- FLOWERHORNCRAZE

meth blue will kill Beneficial Bacteria, not sure if a small dose like that will also or not though.

then use something like that blue ich medicine. that wont hurt anything and carbon will take it right out.

yeah if you read bottle it says right on the bottle Dan. It's such a small dose it might not do anything though.

I have spare sponge filters in other tanks I use for seeding so just reseeded my tank and its ok now.
