This is what I use for my convicts, and saves a lot of headaches. The eggs are enclosed so there is only one way in and out so easy for the parents to protect and they only bock a small area vs 1/2 the tank. This is a 4" terracotta pot and I used ones with slits in it to make sure I can get water flow in there so it wont go stagnet and debris can float out the top. I use a 1 1/2 wholesaw bit for wood that is dull so it was trash and now has a new use. I get a water bottle and drill very slowly with low pressure running a stream of water to lubricate the bit and keep the temp down. Its takes about 3-5min but well worth it and only cost you .49 :)

Sorry for straying off the topic but I have a couple of question about conficts.
Do you need to remove the babies or can you keep them with their parents for a long time?
I'm thinking about keeping a 30gal breeding tank to use as Piranha food.

You can leave them for a long time, they are very good at keeping little ones. You shouldn't have an issue finding a pair if not let me know and can send you some.

Yeah, I agree to that. I saw how this fish multiplies. They're like rabbits! Thanks for sharing.

yeah bro, just add water LOL. The females have the orange in their bellies, the males don't so super easy to sex. As long as you give plenty of hiding spots your good to go. Lace rock or holey rock is great. If you have access to hammer drill, you can drill holes in some of that big red lava rock too. This way once the fry leave the nest, they have a greater chance of survival.
