Hey there ladies and gents... i guess you can call me the noob here i have had my Flower Horns for a while now in fact i have had one of them "Rosey" for at least 3yrs now and the other for maybe 1 1/2 yrs.

I had originally gotten Rosey at a fish farm the people there had no idea it was a Flower Horn...... but it did he he he sneaky sneaky. They ended up selling it to me as a Jack Dempsey for $3. And the other one i got for $5 when he was a small fry less thank 1inch big. Sadly i had 2 that died i miss them dearly i will try to find some pick to share with you guys. Thanks for looking

Thanks for looking. I guess i got kinda lucky when i found them i took chance and it paid off. The second one is a mean lil guy once you walk in the room he is attacking well trying to attack you through the glass. Rosey which i think is a girl will anyone be able to help with the sexing on them?

yes you got very lucky bro. It's hard to tell which fry will turn out nice like yours. I think you are 100% on track in sexing your fish too.

I would like to get them to breed but it has proven to be a hard task with these 2 i guess there compatible? or my I am doing something wrong i dunno.

are they in same tank seperated?? That may be your best bet. When her tube comes down, wayyyy down, try putting them together and see what happens. Doesn't look good though IMO. I have males like that and too much testosterone. Sometimes the female will lay her eggs on teh eggcrate and they can get fertilized that way. I have even had a mean fish like this fetilize eggs through a divider. Just be VERY carefull if you try to put them together. She's about the same size and could very well put it on him too!!!

Yes the are in separate tanks for now i put them together when i see the females tube coming down a lil bit. Ill will have to wait a lil bit though she has recently recovered from HITH. Glad to say she is doing 100% better though

you want them in the same tank, divided, for at least a couple weeks before you try to introduce them.

where can i find the dividers all the one that i find are kinda crappy they can barely keep guppies separate lol.

PM member named JEBO or Chris at aquatic central has suction cup divider holders, those are safest IMO. Then you can use acrylix/plexi glass or eggcrate that you cut to size.

oooo man i cant wait to get them to breed. I once had a candy parrot breed with a green texas very odd and unplanned it just kinda happened. But it was interesting to see what the fry looked like. I cant wait to see what my flowerhorn fry will look like if i get them to mate.
