First of all, I must apologize for my lousy camera skill. Pictures also not very good due to 6.0 MP digital camera.
Without macro lens it is tough to get a true beauty of these corals.

Here is a full tank shot.

Leather, Torch, Mushroom, Zoas, Candycane corals

6 inches plus Deresa clam

LE TYree Purple Monster (around 150 dollars for 1/2 inch frag on internet stores)
Pink Jade Lemonage
LE Tyree 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Lokani (About 90 dollars for 1/2 inches frag)

Tube Birdnest

This one sold to me a rare Hoekimai but I doubt it. Still a beauty with purple/blue coral

Crocea clam, wall type Frogspawn, blue tang, Blue cestipularia, Pom Pom Xenia

Wall type Frogspawn, supposely much much rarer than branch type frogspawn

Bom Bom Zoa, orange with green skirts, orange skirt with green, all three on same rock

More Zoas

Finally, my praise and joy LE Tyree Red Watermelon Chalice (About 200 dollars for a pencil eraser tip size frag)

Took me a while to fix this tank and it is only 1/2 way there to call it a truely reef tank.
Figure I need to dump atleast around 2500 dollars more in equiptments alone to call it a truely nice reef tank.

The blue tang is around 5-6 inches bro
Yeah, he is a very brave fella. When I feed pallets I usually dip my fingers down to water for few seconds so the pallets do not float on top water and get suck into overflow box.
He always come up and nip my fingers, it is so cool.

No no bro, my reef tank is nothing. About 1/10 of a nice reef tank.
It is still a work in progress. Up to me I would dump the tank and get a new one but for some reason wife likes it.
All of these corals will take me approximately 2 years before it will turn into a nice colonies.
I thought flowerhorn is bad but reef tank ... :angry2:

I feel you bro. It takes time and $$$. That's why I'm out of saltwater. But I still miss them.

Tien, I think I don't need to watch Discovery HD anymore... it's right here. Man, that's my dream reef tank. I am actually trying to commit time and money in a reef tank right now. Not making much progress though.

So up to date, how much have you invested in that tank, if you don't mind sharing?

To be honest, it will cost whole lot less (50%) if we did some research and buy used tank, stand, canopy. Good used items.
We didn't know and bought everything new.
We started out with a 60 gallons tank then wife complained it is too small not fit with living room so she upgrade to 110-120 gallons (Dimension 60x18x24) while I was at work.
She even paid those LFS guys 100 dollars to delivered and set up before I came home.
It is a freaking Jebo tank cause she likes round front corner ... :angry2: Not thing against Jebo but these type of tank not good for salt water.
I have to take out the W/D filter put in sump, tunze 9010 skimmer, TEK-2 retrofit lighting system, tunze powerheads.
120 lbs liferock, 125 lbs life sand. Total cost up to date I would say around 5000 dollars for everything. 2000 dollars of those is corals, fishes, clams.
She likes cheap and wavy stuff while I love rare and exotic stuff.
Anytime I bought some itsy weeny tiny exotic corals cost more than 100 dollars I always put it behind some rocks for a week or two then move in front
if she noticed it then I just give her an innocent look and said it was there couple weeks ago and now I move it around.
It has been working good for far although I suspect she knews but tend to ignore rather than push it since I did most of maintenent.
Well, it has teach me a lot about salt water stuffs so if anyone think about getting into I can help abit about cost saving method and set-up that make maintenent as easy as possible.

Your reef tank is nice. I will love to set one up in the future. But, i heard it very tough to maintain a reef tank. Like you said, it also cost alot of money. My brother in law who is a big fan of reef tank. He recently have to sale all of his reef tank worth more than 10k since he got marry.
Well, Tien if you ever decided to get a brand new set of reef tank. A friend of my brother in law who bought a 240 gal ultraclear starphire glass tank. Man, it cost him alot of money. I saw it in person, and it was so beautiful to look at.

27.gif Words to live by in the SW game. Knowledge and patience is key. I have a AGA 120RR Megaflow tank, wooden stand & canopy, 250W Metal Halides, 180lbs live sand, 150lbs live rock, monster ASM G4X skimmer, RO/DI unit, etc and I only invested less than $1,200 so far in used equipment. I'm doing a FOWLR tank. pics coming soon !

Stick with FOWLR and some nice softy corals bro.
Man, when you start getting serious about corals that is when the money pit hole start to sink.
Phophate reactor, calcium reactor, etc and then start to get into exotic corals ... lotsa money when you start out
Alot of guys invest into exotic and rare corals then few years down the road when these corals turn into nice colony then you can start selling frags to support the hobby.

When I venture into corals territory I have trade all my angel in. Still miss my flame angel, blue face, queen, etc.

great set-up bro Tien. I hear ya on the money pit. When I broke down my 90 reef , my electric bill alone dropped almost $80. I had 12 wire plugged in for that thing though. Then it all adds up quickly after that. Cant wait to see updates of your tank.
