cool diy bro. I would try to make some sort of drip tray over those bioballs, otherwise, you might not be getting the optimum performance from them.

A suggestion for you Ken. Measure and cut a piece of plexi to snug fit above the prefilter and then drill a bunch of small hole one inch apart.
That way the water will drip through these hole and cover the entire surface.

sorry if this is out of the topic, but would we have the bio ball to stay inside the water or let the water pass through them in the air??? cuz i have alot of bio ball but the sump dont let me have the bio balls to work like wet/dry system. so im just wondering will the bio balls work the same when it's inside the water???

It will work but not as efficient in a WD environment.
Spongy type or more porous type of media will work better submerged.

While I was at Lowes they had a new product and was a plastic peg board. I would think it would make the perfect drip plate.
