Well for about 2 1/2 years ive had the same 55g fish tank. My wife just got a new job that pays very well on top of my job. We just got a new place and she gave me the green light to go out and buy a 100 g. Ive never had a tank this big so im not too sure how to go about setting it up. Im gonna have my FH,5in, in with a 9 in green terror, pleco. Thats it for now. What I want to know from everybodys past experiences, whats a good filter, tank setup for those fish, lighting, etc. This is gonna be a big project for me, so I would like everybodys ideas, tips, suggestions, everything is welcome! 101.gif 101.gif 101.gif 101.gif 101.gif

thanks for all the help. i looked on ebay and found an Eheim 2217 classic. its in the box with a buy now price of 125. its for a 160g. Filter volume-1.6g, pump output-264 gph. It comes with the following media, Ehfisubstrate- a large surface area biomedia, and Ehfimech- to disperse the water and trap large debris. Includes tubing and 1 year warrenty? Is this a good filter or should I should I keep looking?

the flow is pretty low for a 100 gallon IMO. 264 gph will cycle your water 2.5 times in an hour, 4 is better IMO. I don't have any experience with those filters first hand though, but I would look for something with more flow. AN aquaclear 70 moves about that same amount of water I believe and that is rated for up to 70 gallons bro. If you do go with that filter, I would definatly add a nice HOB also.
