anyone have any comments on this product? Im thinking about using it with bioball as well as bioglass. Figure i will go all out on this wet/dry to keep water at top notch condition

Also its on sale 48% off 12.gif

The first one is irregular shaped. The second one is cylindrical shape.
I like the second one better because it doesn't have many broken pieces.
And they say it has more surface area.

More surface area than what?

Sorry Ken, the Pro is spherical (ball shape), not cylindrical.
It is better than the first type.
I don't know about thsoe other 2 products.

This is also very good, http://www.aquaticeco.com/subcategories/2636/Siporax

Why not just use coral chips?
You get both biofiltration and calcium leaching. 4_12_12[1].gif

Nice link, they claim this has 75% more surface area over bio glass. What about that plastic shavings that popular in the koi world?

Cancel that order heh

We have estimated the surface area at 24% that of Siporax®.

I would pack the W&D in the following order from bottom to top: Coral chips, Siporax, "that black course pad", bioballs, black course pad again, felt, and cover with perforated plexi glass with 3/8" holes 1/2" apart.

I would have been contented with bioballs. As long as I have enough. Something with Balls are always great bro. LOL!
