the reason most do not have large heads is due to that feature being one of the most desirable traits. This is also one of the hardest to find features as well. The head size is all based on the fish's genes. There are many fish stores in Socal that will be able to hook you up, or better yet find a fish from a member who is trying to sell one, your most likely to find a better deal this way.

Welcome to the site bro. If you check the bigger retail petshops, chances of finding a quality flowerhorn is close to none. You might want to check out the buy/sell section of this forum cause there are quite a few socal members who are thinning their collection or making room for new piece. Also we conduct group buys on this site so it will be a good opportunity for you to own a quality piece that you dont see in your lfs. Also as bro wizard points out, there might be some smaller petshops that imports them from oversea

As for keeping the flowerhorn with the oscar, it might work if they are smaller but can be a problem as they get bigger. Your mostly likely going to end up with a oscar that is hanging around the top corner as the flowerhorn takes over the tank. Best of luck in your search for your flowerhorn 12.gif

408 Flowerhorns has high quality flowerhorns with head-guarantee. Check them out at the Corporate Seller section of this forum. I am very pleased with the fish I bought from this store. In addition, they have great support, answering all my questions. I am fortunate enough to be local to 408 Flowerhorn but from seeing their fish selection in person, I can say you have nothing to worry about buying online with them.

it all depends on the fish itself..your very lucky to get one that will hang out with others..most of the time they are pretty much solo.if you want more than one, you could always divide the tank..just an option..welcome to the forum..enjoy your stay
