I have a question, the other day I did a water change and the entire tank just sort of went white and cloudy in color. Now I notice that there are white deposits on the heater and glass and I am wondering why this would have hapened. Is it cause the water is so hard and these are mineral deposits building up on the glass? This was my guess and so I have begun to try to replace some of the water with reverse osmosis water to try to balance it. Am I on the right track? When I check the water parameters, everything else looks pretty good but the water is hard.

I was up in san jose this week and was thinking of trying to go by the 408 Flowerhorn store but the only number I could find was no longer in service. Are they a store open to the public and are they still around?

Hey fish lovers with experience raising fry from eggs. I had a batch of fry hatch about a week and a half ago I am wondering if there is some critical stage that they hit around this time when weak or deformed ones die. They all seemed to be doing really well until yesterday I saw like two or three dead ones and now today more like 5-10 dead or nearly dead ones. They look like the smallest or skinny ones and I checked water parameters and that looks really good. I am wondering if it is just nature killing off the lame ones or if I am seeing the beginning of a problem. Anyone with some advice for me? Is this normal?

Hey all, I have a Zz that is currently breeding with a Kkp and I have a question. She laid out a bunch of eggs today and it looked like he was doing his part by following behind and acting like he was fertilizing them, and I left them alone to go back to work and didn't check back in on them until just now. Now when he comes near the eggs she wants him away and they start fighting, so I put in a divider so it doesn't get too crazy in there. She is still with the eggs and he is banished to the other side. My question is this, how long does a male need to fertilize the eggs? This is my first time actually with eggs and I would like to try and let them grow, but I want to make sure that I haven't moved him away too soon. Please advise a rookie. Thanks

Gage's update has inspired me to share some pics of my faded Zz. She is still really young and she seems to keep getting more and more colorful. comments welcome.
