A couple of weeks ago,I was asked on another thread, if I could supply details of my filter setup.
I thought this was a better section to post it in.
The tanks I buy come complete.Sometimes the design of the filter chamber varies, but generally they have a plexi-glass filter chamber installed in one corner, and this runs from top to bottom.
It is divided into three sections.
The top section, contains fiter wool or mat, and has a grill in the side to enable water to enter.
Middle section, contains a coarse, plastic filter media.
Bottom section, contains a cheap pump which blows water and air through the side of the filter chamber, back into the main tank. The outlet of the pump has a small plastic tube attached which goes back up to the top of the chamber, and sucks in air. You can also add a bag of carbon to this section if you want.
The photos show filter system's from two different tanks and differ slightly, but the general idea is the same.
I'm sorry, but a couple of photo's are sideways, and I'm not clever enough to change them.
I welcome your comments.

I saw this fish in my local shop the other day and decided to buy him.
He's 10" long. What do you think?

18+
Hi,
Can someone tell me why I can't access the 18+ section.
It tell's me that I am not the required age.
I'm very flattered because I'm 51

As I have said in other threads, I live in Bangkok.
This afternoon, my wife wanted to go shopping at Chatuchak Market.
Now, the last thing I want to do on a Sunday afternoon, with the temperature in the 90's,is go shopping.
So I told her that she could go shopping while I wandered around the tropical fish market.
The deal was done.
I have only been to the fish market a couple of times before, but this time I discovered a whole different section. I must have looked at 500 flowerhorns this afternoon, no kidding. That does not include all the other species.
I was in Flowerhorn heaven.
Next time I will take my camera and post some pic's if you want.

Hi,
I have just bought my second tank setup, and Flowerhorn.
The tank is 48"x20"x20" and I have one male 7" Flowerhorn in there.
What are my options as to tankmate, or should I leave him on his own. Could I introduce a female? What other breed of fish might be suitable?
I don't mind using a divider for a while but I would like to remove it eventually.

Jaiyenyen
