I got 7 fish from bluestarflowerhorn, they are all about 1.5 to 2" or bigger. zz bighead and reds i believe. In my 75 I have them divided from other FH. There is a fish that I just noticed was darker and appeared striped on the forehead and red behind gills, and gets darker down half of body. The colors are now noticeable comapared to the other fish.

I did a 15 percent water change because some how the damn heater got to 88, I slowly brought it down to 83.7. Not sure about the barometric pressuer outside, but Its been very windy and overcast with a good chance of rain tomorrow. I think this fish is a female the way she's acting. This fish has burrowed out a small hole near a log and when my larger male comes near, she will either fan him with her tail or shimmie on side in the hole.

This fish wont let any other fish com near this half of the tank....and this has not happened since I got them. The larger male doesnt show any aggression to her when she comes up to him, so I'm just not sure.

from what Iv'e described what do you think ?

First pick of possible female and second is of tank boss and female.

Forgot to mention her tube looks to be out further near anal gland...she's throwing herself on her side in the corner near the male..lol

Im making this to supplement an existing 50 gallon filter I have running at this time for my 1500 gallon pond. I took tidbits from the DIY project someone was making for a wet/dry filter. Im using 3/4 inflow from pond to the bottom of the can. It will flow up through a series of padded filters, through some pebble substraight and a padded filter in 18gallon bucket up top. I plan to plant a pond plant in the 18 gallon portion to cover the eyesore.

It will then fill up the barrel and flow into a 3/4 hose back to the pond. If a problem is spotted with the flow-back to pond I will add a small pump to assist.

If anyone has suggestions feel free to shoot away....

I just got through taking the advice of some members and divided my 75 gall for my 5 showcase juvi's. I have three filters in this tank along with a an air tube, heater and two lights. Multiple plants which will probably be taken out when they get older. I have three plecos in there and will add two more to the remaining ones missing. For now a couple fo the juvi's are able to go from side to side becasue they fit through the eggshell divider. The important thing for me I suppose is that they have the ability to get to safety..lol
