Here's the older pair. The female remains in a constant state of upset.



The Honduran Managuense are breeding again. During the initial breeding, the pair does a lot of of lip locking.



The female...obviously ready to breed.



I got quite a few photos...some in interesting positions. I think this is called "getting the upper lip".

Today In The Fishroom ~ 01/03/09

Once again, the P. loiselle are breeding. Nothing better than taking photos of fish breeding. They are at their prettiest...and mostly out of their minds.













I'm going to concentrate on getting some better photos of these fish. I have a couple males in the tank that refuse to pose for the camera. More later.

I've posted photos of these two a few times before. Every time I shoot them I'm amazed by the colors. Right now they are in between broods...which is fine because I am up to my limit on fry (feeders LOL)...two 75 gallon tanks full of fry.

I used the three flash units plus a small reflector to illuminate the bottom of the fish. One of the flash units was pointed at the reflector giving it a nice even light.
